Biography

Jackson Vincent is a multi-disciplinary artist from Philadelphia, PA. He is interested in identity, permanence, and abstraction with a recent focus on utilizing various additive and subtractive photographic techniques with both film and digital photography to remove or otherwise obscure the identities of his subjects. His fine art photography has come to be recognized for its intentionally underexposed and ambiguous qualities, often displaying his subjects as supernatural or ghost-like in nature. Aside from his more abstract personal projects, Vincent also practices as a commercial artist, most recently as a member of the studio photography team for Anthropologie in Philadelphia.

Jackson Vincent has received the Mabel E. Johnston Scholarship, Trustee's Award for Excellence in the Arts, and the Alfred J. Ignarri Award for Junior Studio Photography from The University of the Arts and has exhibited at The Philadelphia Sketch Club, Cleveland Photo Fest, and Las Laguna Art Gallery in California. He plans to self-publish a photo book of selected works from his career discussing his fixation on identity in the near future.

Vincent balances his career and education in visual art with his newfound success as a musical artist under his eponymous solo project, known worldwide as a performing and recording musician and songwriter. His music investigates themes similar to his visual works, seamlessly merging into a collective and immersive artistic exploration.
